It innovatively launched four versions: the zodiac version, the calligraphy and painting version, the auspicious and wishful version, and the Chinese-English version.

The 2027 "Forbidden City Calendar" zodiac version traces the origin of cultural relics to the meaning of the auspicious sheep, recreating the parades and mountain and river scenery of past dynasties; the calligraphy and painting version conveys the historical context through literati paintings and palace paintings, showing the development and circulation of painting history; the auspicious Ruyi version selects cultural relics from ceramics, embroidery, architectural paintings, bronzes and other categories to integrate the auspicious patterns of the Forbidden City for more than 600 years into daily life; the Chinese-English version uses professional translation to tell oriental stories to help the world understand China.

Among them, the zodiac version of the calendar selects cultural relics related to sheep and travel, parades, etc. The themes of the 12 months are lucky sheep for a thousand years, auspicious pictures, ingenuity and beauty, patrolling the four directions, the unity of the world, starting south, scenic rivers, prosperity in Suzhou, fragrance in Wuzhong, mist and rain in the south of the Yangtze River, splendid scenery in Jiangning and elegance in the palace. The 90 sheep-themed cultural relics in the book form an encyclopedia manual of the sheep zodiac; 75 patrol-themed cultural relics tell the legend of touring the world; more than 280 cultural relics and images reproduce the grand scenery of Jiangnan and southern craftsmanship. Over the years, the "Forbidden City Calendar" Zodiac Edition has been committed to creating a "museum on the bookshelf."
