The 12th "Jin Feiyan" Cross-Strait Micro Film and Micro Video Competition Carnival was launched in Wuhan

China News Service, Wuhan, September 16th (Ma Furong, Zhu Kun) The 12th "Golden Flying Swallow" Cross-Strait Micro Film and Micro Video Competition Carnival was launched in Wuhan on the 16th. Nearly 400 people, including film and television experts and young creators from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, attended the light and shadow appointment to enhance exchanges and mutual learning.

Since the call for submissions was launched in April this year, the 12th "Jin Feiyan" Cross-Strait Micro Film and Micro Video Competition has received nearly 500 works submitted by teachers, students and young film and television creators from universities and colleges on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including 237 entries from Taiwan. After review by experts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, 61 works were shortlisted, covering themes such as family nostalgia, urban fireworks, youth growth, AI (artificial intelligence) crossover, and cultural inheritance.

The competition carnival is hosted by Hubei Cross-Strait Exchange Promotion Association and Hubei University of Economics. It lasts for 5 days and includes exhibitions of outstanding shortlisted works, academic exchanges and visits, award ceremonies and other activities. It is committed to deepening exchanges and cooperation between young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in the field of microfilm and microvideo.

This competition encourages the integration of AI creative expression, and has a special "Comic" creation unit, advocating the advancement of creation from "well shot" to "smart AI telling". During the carnival, young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait will carry out creative sharing and round-table dialogues around emerging tracks such as AI film and television, comics and dramas; they will visit the Yangtze River Audiovisual Micro-Short Drama Industry Base to exchange micro-short drama creation experiences and seek cooperation opportunities.

Since its inception in 2014, the "Golden Flying Swallow" Cross-Strait Micro Film and Micro Video Competition has attracted more than 100 universities and tens of thousands of young creators from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to participate, and collected more than 7,000 works. It has been upgraded from a single award to a comprehensive exchange platform integrating competition selection, academic seminars, industry docking, and talent incubation.
