A state of emergency has been declared in New York due to severe weather.

New York was covered by the bad weather promised by weather forecasters, because of which the authorities introduced a state of emergency in the city, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

New York previously declared a state of emergency due to bad weather. At the same time, the high-level week of the UN General Assembly continues in the city, bringing together hundreds of world politicians.

By Saturday morning (local time), the city was covered in a squally wind, tearing umbrellas out of their hands and knocking them off their feet, as well as heavy rain - because of it, Manhattan was slightly flooded.

According to authorities, during the bad weather (on the night from Friday to Saturday and on Saturday itself) up to 38 millimeters of precipitation may fall. Wind gusts of up to 17.9 meters per second are expected.
