22-year-old prisoner escaped from prison in Schkeuditz

In Schkeuditz near Leipzig, a 22-year-old prisoner escaped from psychiatric prison. The man ran away while taking a walk in the Altzscherbitz district on Friday afternoon, the police said. Since the search so far has been unsuccessful, the police are asking for information in a search call.

According to the information, the man has been temporarily housed in a psychiatric hospital in prison since 2025 because of a mental illness. He could be in the Leipzig area. Based on his previous actions, according to the police, it cannot be ruled out that the 22-year-old poses a danger. Anyone who sees the man is asked to call the emergency number 110.

When the man escaped, he was reportedly wearing a light blue windbreaker, blue jeans and sneakers. He is around 1.78 meters tall, has a thin build and has a black hedgehog haircut with a full beard.
