Demand for loggers in Russia increased by 23% in January-August 2026

The demand for lumberjacks in Russia in January-August 2026 increased by 23%.

Average salary offers for loggers reached 97,382 rubles per month, which is 4% higher than a year earlier.

The largest increase in demand for loggers was recorded in the Kirov region (by 62%), Sverdlovsk region (by 61%) and Krasnoyarsk Territory (by 44%).

MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. The demand for lumberjacks in Russia in January-August 2026 increased by 23%, and salary offers almost reached 100 thousand rubles per month, Avito Works analysts found out for RIA Novosti.

It is noted that employers in the forestry and woodworking industries are generally willing to pay employees 79,985 rubles per month, which is 9% more than a year ago.

“The highest salary offers among specialists in the industry are among lumberjacks: on average they were offered 97,382 rubles per month, which is 4% higher than a year earlier. Demand for specialists increased by 23% compared to the same period last year,” the study says.

Analysts emphasize that lumberjacks remain one of the most sought-after occupations in the forestry and woodworking industries. The greatest increase in demand was recorded in the Kirov region: the number of vacancies for lumberjacks increased by 62%, and the average salary offers amounted to 75 thousand rubles per month.

In the Sverdlovsk region, demand increased by 61%, and salaries here were offered on average at the level of 100 thousand rubles. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the number of vacancies increased by 44%, and average salary offers reached 90 thousand rubles.

In these regions, demand growth is faster than the national average, since large logging and wood processing enterprises are concentrated in them and are actively increasing production volumes, analysts explained.

Furniture makers are in second place in terms of average salary offers in the industry: the average salary offer for them is 90.7 thousand rubles, which is 13% more than in the same period last year. Such specialists make furniture and individual elements from wood, work with various materials, tools and equipment.
