Keys to 24 new school buses were presented in Smolensk

MOSCOW, September 22 - RIA Novosti. The keys to 24 new buses were handed over to representatives of the region’s schools in Smolensk, said the head of the region, Vasily Anokhin.

They will deliver children to classes in schools in Velizh, Glinkovsky, Demidovsky, Dukhovshchinsky, Elninsky, Krasninsky, Novoduginsky, Pochinkovsky, Roslavlsky, Rudnyansky, Safonovsky, Smolensky, Ugransky, Kholm-Zhirkovsky, Shumyachsky municipal districts.

“The acquisition of transport is part of our large comprehensive work to create an accessible and high-quality educational environment in the region,” Anokhin wrote in his channel on the Max platform.

There are 465 school routes of various lengths in the region, with more than 300 buses. They transport about 4,500 children.

“As part of a quadripartite agreement between the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education, the Government of the Smolensk Region and manufacturing plants, this year the supply of 24 GAZ school buses and 29 PAZ school buses was organized at the expense of federal funds,” Anokhin said.
