The Ministry of Economic Affairs stated today (6) that China National Petroleum Corporation and Taipower have given full play to the key roles of state-owned enterprises in stabilizing prices and taking care of people's livelihood. China National Petroleum Corporation, for example, directly affects the general public's gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and barreled gas, which is crucial to the livelihood of market vendors and snack bars. China National Petroleum Corporation has cooperated with the policy to slow down the freeze on price increases, absorb costs on its own, and help the government stabilize prices. The debt ratio has reached as high as 94%.

Currently, China National Petroleum Corporation's barreled gas absorption is 27.25 yuan per kilogram, which is higher than the listed price of 20.01 yuan, which is equivalent to losing one barrel for every barrel sold. It is estimated that a family of four has about 1.5 barrels (20 kilograms per barrel) per month. If the oil is not absorbed, the gas cost will increase by about 818 yuan per month. Night market vendors estimate that it is about 3 to 30 barrels (60 to 600 kilograms) per month. If the oil is not absorbed, the gas cost will be increased every month. The cost of gas fuel will increase by about 1,635 yuan to 16,350 yuan; buffets and restaurants will consume about 6 to 40 barrels (120 to 800 kilograms) per month. If China Oil does not absorb it, the cost of gas fuel will increase by about 3,270 yuan to 21,800 yuan per month.

Taking Taipower as an example again, Taipower has absorbed more than 75 billion yuan in electricity consumption for people's livelihood this year alone; and the current electricity price for people's livelihood below 330 kilowatt-hours is even lower than the 2004 level.

Facing severe challenges in the international energy market, governments around the world have also adopted price subsidies and tax adjustment policies to stabilize domestic energy prices. The Ministry of Economic Affairs hopes that all sectors of society will support the government in preparing budgets to subsidize CNPC and Taipower, so that CNPC and Taipower can operate steadily and continue to stabilize people's livelihood, industry and the national economy.
