Paju Jayu-ro rest area transformed into a complex space for electric vehicle charging and tourism benefits

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 17th that the Jayu-ro rest area in Book City has been transformed into a complex rest area with electric vehicle charging and tourism benefits.

Since the 11th, eight electric vehicle fast chargers at the Jayu-ro rest area began operating in earnest, further improving the convenience of electric vehicle drivers.

The city is also working on promotions, such as requesting that major navigation companies reflect charging station information so that more users can easily use charging stations.

In addition, green space environment improvement projects such as tree maintenance and weeding work around rest areas are also being promoted.

Starting last month, users can receive a 20% discount on the usage fee by freely using the food market and instant stores within the rest area and then visiting the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola within one day with a receipt.

This partnership was designed to revitalize stay-at-home tourism and promote regional coexistence by linking Jayu-ro Rest Area with the Imjingak Peace Gondola, a representative tourist attraction in Paju.

A Paju city official said, "Jayuro Rest Area is being reborn as a 'smart rest area' where you can enjoy electric vehicle charging and tourism benefits at the same time," and added, "We will make it a representative attraction in Paju that citizens and tourists will want to visit again."
