Results of a survey on the presence of a Russian military base in Armenia

Less than 30 percent of respondents support the withdrawal of the Russian base from Armenia. The results of the survey were presented by the director of the Armenian representative office of Gallup International Association Aram Navasardyan, Sputnik Armenia reports.

“39.7 percent of respondents noted that the 102nd Russian base is necessary for Armenia to ensure the country’s security. 24.7 percent believe that the base should remain in Armenia, but the conditions for its location should be reconsidered. 28.9 percent noted that Russia should withdraw the military base,” he said.

On September 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed withdrawing the Russian base from Armenian territory. He stressed that Russia never imposes a military presence on its partners.
