台東卑南溪在利吉橋下出現10多輛已外型扭曲變形的車輛，有民眾發現後在網上發文，乍看會讓人以為是車禍後墜溪，但數量之多、密集，也讓人懷疑是否有業者將廢棄車亂丟在溪中，或是上游有廢車場的車輛墜下，順水漂流至此。

民眾昨晚發文後，也有縣議員立即關心並邀集環保局今早勘查，但隨即就被查清其實是為了因應防災日的演習才特地準備，但直到今早仍有不少用路人經過時還特地停下查看是否真有嚴重車禍。

消防局表示，這是模擬地震後大橋斷裂，車輛從橋上紛紛墜落，16至18日將在此進行第一場搜救演練，屆時還有國內外搜救隊在此演練，這才事先在此佈置，只是未先告知才引起民眾誤會，會再掛起紅布條告示，讓民眾不再緊張。
