Zakharova explained the differences in statements by the Russian Foreign Ministry and US Secretary of State Rubio

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova explained why the statements of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the head of American diplomacy Marco Rubio differ in content.

The meeting between Lavrov and Rubio took place on Wednesday in New York on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

“I think that this is simply the style of the Americans - to highlight only what they specifically need now. Our comment really represents the main milestones of the conversation that took place,” she said in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov on the Solovyov Life channel.

Zakharova also did not rule out that the Americans might release some additional explanatory material on this matter.

“But what was necessary and beneficial for the American side to highlight today, they highlighted. This is their style. Yes, what they need, they emphasize, what they think is less beneficial for them, they don’t even talk about it,” she concluded.
