Section 3 of Agongdian Road, an important connection road between Gangshan and Miduo District in Kaohsiung, has a wavy section with a maximum height difference of 50 centimeters, posing concerns for driving safety. The city government's Public Works Bureau invested 11 million in road surface renovation and elevation adjustment for the 2.4-kilometer section. It has been completed and opened to traffic. Local people also feel that the road surface is smooth and no longer bumpy.

Section 3 of Agongdian Road is close to the south bank of Agongdian Creek and was built according to the topography of the water defense road and the elevation of the drainage structure. As a result, the road surface about 400 meters west of Qianfeng Road has obvious wavy undulations.

Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau Road Construction Office pointed out that Section 3 of Agongdian Road can connect to Provincial Highways Provincial Highway 1, Provincial Highway 17, and Provincial Highway 19A. Agongdian Road is surrounded by industrial areas, factories and other areas, which play the role of commuting residents and industrial transportation. Under the long-term demand for large vehicle traffic, the aging of the road surface is accelerated. In addition, the wavy road section has been measured to have a maximum height difference of 50 centimeters, which also poses a hidden concern for driving safety and requires overall road adjustment and renovation.

In order to improve the traffic quality of Section 3 of Agongdian Road in Gangshan District and the road environment along the Agongdian Creek, the Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau has carried out an improvement project on Section 3 of Agongdian Road (Qianfeng Road to Shanbahata Road) with a total cost of 11 million yuan. The road will be renovated and elevated for a total length of about 2.4 kilometers. Adjustment, using modified asphalt concrete with high elasticity and good crack resistance, combined with high-strength, wear-resistant converter stone, improves the road's rutting resistance and load-bearing capacity, making the pavement flatter and more durable, further improving driving grip and comfort, and effectively extending the service life of the road.

The Road Works Department explained that converter stone is a by-product of the steelmaking process, and its reuse in road paving can not only extend the life of the road and reduce maintenance costs, but also help reduce carbon emissions and implement the concepts of circular economy and net-zero transformation. Local director Cai Li was also satisfied with the improvement results, saying that the road surface was smooth and driving was no longer bumpy.
