A court in Moscow sentenced a false midwife to 3.5 years in prison after the death of a baby

A court in Moscow sentenced false midwife Natalia Kotlar, who delivered the baby in a Moscow apartment, to 3.5 years in prison, after which the newborn died, the court’s press service told RIA Novosti.

According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the woman was not a medical worker and did not have a higher medical education or qualifications in the field of training “Obstetrics and Gynecology”. At the same time, she assured the pregnant woman that she had the skills to assist in childbirth and agreed to give birth to her.

On the evening of December 13, 2025, the defendant arrived at the girl’s apartment, and the very next day she delivered the baby, but after some time the baby’s condition worsened sharply and, despite the provision of qualified medical care, the newborn died.

As law enforcement agencies clarified to RIA Novosti, the woman giving birth was blogger Aisha Belova (Aisha Chigga).

“The court sentenced Kotlar to 3.5 years in prison to be served in a general regime colony with a fine of 300 thousand rubles,” the court said.
