Humanoid robot assistants may appear in Russian homes in 3-5 years

Representative of the ATM Alliance company Ivan Dubovitsky said that in the next three to five years humanoid robot assistants may appear in the homes of Russians.

Currently, at the exhibition of the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum, two robots are presented - Garik and Plato, who entertain guests and inform about the exhibitions.

Widespread use of robots is still limited due to safety issues, but ATM Alliance and other companies are working to create better software for their safe use.

TYUMEN, September 16 – RIA Novosti. Humanoid robots may appear in Russian homes in the next three to five years; tests of various humanoid robotic assistants are actively underway, Ivan Dubovitsky, a representative of the ATM Alliance company, told RIA Novosti.

Two similar robots - Garik and Plato - are presented at the exhibition of the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum, where their functions include entertaining guests and informing about the exhibitions.

“In our company, we are creating software so that robots of this format can function for the tasks of businesses and ordinary people. I think that in three to five years in Russia such robots can be used at home as assistants,” said Dubovitsky.

He noted that robots are not currently used on a large scale, because full safety issues have not yet been ensured - better, time-tested software is needed so that the machines can be used safely. Dubovitsky noted that ATM Alliance, like other companies, is working on creating such software and solutions. It is assumed that in the future it will be possible to buy a license for a specific function for the robot, like applications in marketplaces: home assistant, implementation in production, warehouse operations, and so on.
