Donghae City promotes comprehensive measures to realize a city responsible for emergency medical services in 30 minutes

Donghae City will begin in earnest to strengthen the local emergency medical system and establish essential medical infrastructure in order to realize the 'Emergency Medical 30-Minute Responsible City'.

The city announced on the 15th that it recently held a meeting with local hospitals to discuss ways to normalize emergency room operations and secure emergency medical professionals to minimize gaps in emergency medical services.

In particular, we plan to continue discussing with medical institutions to secure professional medical personnel, which is considered the biggest difficulty in local medical fields, while also reviewing institutional and financial measures that can be supported at the city level.

To this end, the city plans to establish a basis for local essential medical support, including emergency rooms and pediatric night care, in the emergency medical care-related ordinance currently being promoted.

We are also looking broadly into the possibility of supporting the intensive care system.

In order to secure golden time for emergency patients, we are looking at sites where helicopters can take off and land within major hospitals, and are also discussing ways to establish a system that can quickly transfer emergency patients to higher-level medical institutions after providing emergency treatment at the hospital.

The city plans to continue consultations with related organizations such as the province and the Ministry of Health and Welfare and actively recommend expansion of essential local medical support and system improvement.

Mayor Lee Jeong-hak said, "We will gradually solve various tasks, such as securing emergency rooms and medical personnel and improving the transportation system, to create an East Sea-type emergency medical safety network where citizens can receive medical services more quickly within the region in critical moments."
