Changes in Kaohsiung City Councilor’s 8th District election: the Kuomintang recommends Huang Yuting to run

Kaohsiung City Councilor District 8 is up for election for 5 seats. The Kuomintang nominated the current councilor Xu Caizhen to seek re-election. Councilor Huang Shaoting of the same party was found guilty of fraudulently claiming assistant fees and dismissed. The blue camp nominated Huang Yuting, who was "one word short". On the last day of registration, Huang Yuting, the sister of former councilor Huang Shaoting, suddenly registered to run. Coincidentally, she had the same pronunciation as the blue nominated Huang Yuting but had a different gender.

However, supporters and the campaign team of District Chief Huang Yuting, who was nominated by the Kuomintang in the Eighth District, originally thought that he was the only candidate representing the KMT in the Eighth District. His votes were expected to be separated from Xu Caizhen, another blue-nominated candidate, and the chance of grabbing a seat for the blue was expected to increase. However, the Kuomintang agreed to "recommend" Huang Yuting to run, which cast a huge doubt on the election situation in the Eighth District.

Huang Yuting said that the Kaohsiung City Party Headquarters of the Kuomintang responded that the blue camp in this district had room to win 3 seats, so it agreed to "recommend" Huang Shaoting's sister Huang Yuting to run, which caused different voices and discussions from all parties. Blue camp supporters also had different opinions, but the deal was done and there was no way out. He would do his best not to disappoint the voters who supported him.

Huang Yuting, a 55-year-old parliamentary candidate recommended by the Kuomintang, holds a Ph.D. in food nutrition from Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan. She once served as a faculty member at I-Shou University and is currently a faculty member at Kaohsiung City Air University. She has expertise in food nutrition and health management. She is the sister of former Congressman Huang Shaoting. Her father and brother have served in the local area for 40 years. She hopes to take over and continue the family's service to the public. Her strength cannot be underestimated.

Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Yuting, candidate for the 8th District, emphasized that he is the only male candidate nominated by the Kuomintang in the district.
