According to legend, there once was a palace in Baihe Village, Yuexi. White cranes roosted and flew in the fields next to the temple all year round. They were regarded by the locals as auspicious omens, hence the name "White Crane Palace". “First there is the crane, then there is the palace, and then there is the village.” This meaning hidden in the place name is a vivid footnote to the leisurely temperament of this village.
In recent years, Yuexi Baihe Village has based on its ecological and cultural tourism advantages and anchored its "slow life" positioning. By holding special festivals and other methods, it has gradually created a unique rural cultural tourism brand. In midsummer in June, the banks of the Houda River in the village are full of greenery. The stream flows around the village, and the breeze blows slowly on the face. The fresh poetry of summer is everywhere. Along the leisure corridor of Houda River, special market stalls are lined up, with a dazzling array of original local specialties produced and sold by the villagers, such as mochi, osmanthus cake, rice, rapeseed oil, grapes, and cantaloupe. "In order to catch up with the market, I got up at two or three in the morning to make mochi. I prepared a total of 45 kilograms of goods, but I didn't expect that they were sold out in the morning." Zheng Guochan, the stall owner, said with a smile.
In the pergola by the stream, tourists receive "customs clearance certificates", pay "crane coins", and experience traditional crafts such as making rice dumplings, making mugwort hangings and colorful ropes.
