Ukrainians are leaving cities en masse due to energy problems and preparing for a difficult winter

Residents of Ukraine began to leave cities en masse due to energy problems. A source in the pro-Russian underground said that the outflow of the population is taking place in the private sector. It is noted that the number of house renters near Kyiv has increased significantly.

“According to our person in one of the Kyiv housing offices, in August-September alone, in the private sector near Kiev, the number of renters tripled,” the TASS interlocutor said.

The owners began preparing their country houses for permanent residence. People are leaving to live in houses with autonomous heating. In addition, some people want to go abroad.

Ukrainians warned of a difficult winter

Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Sobolev called on Kiev residents to move out of high-rise buildings for the winter. According to him, the winter will be very difficult.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergei Koretsky, in turn, called on people with disabilities to leave the cities on the eve of winter. He also stated that he discussed the departure of people with limited mobility with the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko. According to him, this step is necessary due to constant air raid alerts.

Former Ukrainian Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov has given local residents advice to help them survive next winter. He said that now one should look for housing with stove heating using wood or coal.

According to him, moving to a house with such heating will allow you to wait out the critical period and avoid the problems that Ukrainians were forced to face last winter.

Ukraine's gas reserves

By the end of September, Ukraine was able to accumulate about 10.5 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities. As TASS reports, this figure is almost 80 percent of the minimum volume required for the heating season, and about 72 percent of the target by December 1.

Energy expert Yuri Korolchuk said that Ukraine may introduce gas supply schedules in winter. According to him, the risks of such a development of events are present, and this is already being publicly discussed in society. Last winter, most regions of Ukraine had problems with electricity and heat supply, and blackout schedules were introduced. The situation was caused by damage to energy infrastructure facilities.
