3DMark and PowerToys expand support for Windows on Arm

3DMark's "Speed Way" and "Port Royal" now compatible with Arm version of Windows

On June 3, UL Solutions updated the Windows version of its benchmark software "3DMark" to v2.32.8871. This is a minor update that does not affect scores, and focuses on expanding compatibility with Windows on Arm.

With this update, the ray tracing benchmarks "Speed ​​Way" and "Port Royal" are now natively compatible with Windows on Arm. Additionally, DirectX 12 functional tests for Mesh Shader, Sampler Feedback, DirectX Raytracing, PCI Express, and VRS now work natively on Arm.

The UI on Arm devices has also added an indicator to show whether the benchmark is running natively or via x64 emulation. Additionally, for Enterprise/Reviewers licenses, an option has been added that allows you to select between native and x64 emulation when executing customization.

As a known issue, a slight performance degradation has been confirmed when running Port Royal in an environment equipped with AMD Radeon GPU. This update does not include any changes that affect Port Royal's performance, and AMD is currently investigating the cause.

"PowerToys 0.100" released, large-scale update with command palette etc.

On June 9, Microsoft released version 0.100 of its Windows utility collection "PowerToys."

One of the highlights is the Shortcut Guide, which was redesigned from scratch. The new Shortcut Guide appears as a pane on the side of the screen and automatically detects the active app when invoked and displays shortcuts related to that app. In addition to app-specific shortcuts, it also covers standard Windows and enabled PowerToys utility shortcuts.

Added "Extension Gallery" to the command palette. Searching for, installing, updating, and deleting extensions, which used to be done via Microsoft Store or WinGet, can now be done directly from the Command Palette settings screen. The Dock supports multiple monitors and allows you to configure independent configurations for each display.

Additionally, a webcam overlay has been added to ZoomIt recordings, the entire project has been migrated to .NET 10, and the size of the installer has been reduced by 15%.
