Ding Chibiao pointed out that the establishment of China Science Journal Publishing Group marks an important stage of progress in the construction of first-class scientific and technological journals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has taken a key step in integrating scientific and technological journal publishing resources and promoting the strategic transformation from "decentralized publication" to "intensive operation". It is an important milestone in the process of building China's first-class scientific and technological journals. The Chinese Academy of Sciences will take the establishment of the China Science Journal Publishing Group as a new starting point and strive to play a leading and exemplary role in the construction of China's first-class scientific and technological journals.
Lu Fangjun, director of the Bureau of Science and Technology Basic Capabilities of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the academy is currently responsible for more than 400 scientific and technological journals, covering major disciplines in natural sciences, and has played an important role in leading the forefront of academic development and promoting innovation-driven development.
In recent years, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has made positive progress in building first-class scientific journals. In terms of the establishment of new journals, focusing on cutting-edge intersections and blank areas, more than 110 new journals have been supported since 2025, of which about 30 have been officially published. In terms of improving the quality and expansion of existing journals, a total of 98 journals managed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences have been included in the 2025 catalog of world-class scientific journals. In terms of platform construction, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has built China's first full-process digital publishing and knowledge service platform "SciEngine" and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Science and Technology Journal Network, which brings together 1,094 Chinese and foreign science and technology journals managed and published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, accounting for about 1/5 of the total number of science and technology journals in the country.
