China invested 795 billion yuan in water conservancy construction in the first nine months of this year

On the same day, the State Council Information Office held a series of press conferences with the theme of "Getting Started with the 15th Five-Year Plan". Li Ming, Director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, introduced the completion of China's water conservancy investment since this year and the key measures for water conservancy investment during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

Li Ming said that in recent years, the construction of the national water network has accelerated across the board, and investment in water conservancy has exceeded 1 trillion yuan for four consecutive years since 2022. From January to September this year, 41,400 water conservancy projects were implemented across the country, and 28 new major water conservancy projects were started, exceeding the number of construction starts for the whole of last year; 795 billion yuan of investment in water conservancy construction was completed, continuing to operate at a high level.

"There are still three months left before the end of the year. We will further intensify our efforts to ensure that we achieve the goal of starting 40 new major water conservancy projects throughout the year and completing an investment of 1 trillion yuan in water conservancy construction." Li Ming said.

Li Ming said that the "15th Five-Year Plan" period is a critical period for basically realizing socialist modernization, laying a solid foundation and making full efforts. The task of modernizing water network construction is arduous. To complete the goals and tasks of the "15th Five-Year Plan", it is necessary to continue to maintain a high scale of water conservancy investment. The water conservancy department will make every effort to promote the preliminary work of the project, raise construction funds through multiple channels, speed up the project construction progress, complete as much physical work as possible, and better play its role in stabilizing investment, promoting employment, and benefiting people's livelihood.
