We immediately explained to grandma that writing and graffiti are not allowed on the passport, otherwise it will become invalid. My grandma was so anxious when she heard the news that she rubbed her hands. She explained to us that it was because she was old and had a bad memory, so she thought she would carry her passport with her when she went out for fun, so she wrote down the time, place and how much she spent on it. She thought this was the safest way.

For the elderly, what was originally a happy trip abroad suddenly turns into an embarrassing journey. The old man was very anxious after learning the result.

Considering that the old man is 72 years old and it is inconvenient to return alone, we discussed with the tour group and arranged for someone to escort grandma home.

After arriving home successfully, the old man also admitted that this experience taught him a profound lesson: the passport is a legal entry-exit document and must not be used as a notepad or account book to write random marks.

According to the "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China", any act of altering, transferring, or intentionally damaging a passport may cause the document to become invalid and affect normal travel.

In addition to unintentional mistakes in writing, some passengers also modify and modify their passports privately for convenience and time saving. They think they are "little clever", but in fact they have violated the legal red line.

Recently, the police at Guangzhou Baiyun Border Inspection Station discovered obvious abnormalities in the passport of passenger Wang during entry inspection. The overall thickness of the document is thicker, the edges of the page are raised and partially shiny, and there are obvious traces of glue. The texture is very different from that of a normal passport.

After identification by the Document Research Laboratory, Wang's passport has 6 more passport and visa pages than a normal passport. There are duplicate page numbers and inconsistent passport numbers. Where did these 6 unknown visa pages come from?

Zheng Lei, captain of the second duty team at Baiyun Border Inspection Station: The person involved admitted that it was he who altered the visa page. I said that I have been traveling abroad for a long time, and the visa pages in my passport have been exhausted. Because I was too busy with work, I did not renew my passport in time. Later, I learned that my good friend Yang’s Chinese ordinary passport was not used very often, so I had a sudden idea to cut out the visa page from my friend’s passport and glue it to my own passport for use.

In the end, Wang’s passport was determined to be an altered document. I wanted to save time and convenience, but I broke the law due to my weak legal awareness. According to the "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China", the Baiyun Border Inspection Station fined Wang 2,000 yuan and canceled his ordinary Chinese passport.

Missing and damaged pages in your passport can also hinder travel. Recently, when the police at the Yantai Border Inspection Station of the Shandong Border Inspection General Station inspected the passenger at the port, they discovered that four pages were missing from the passport of the passenger Zheng. According to regulations, damaged, missing pages, and incomplete entry-exit documents are not legally valid. The police made a decision not to leave the country in accordance with the law, and the family's outbound journey was ruined on the spot.

We would also like to remind travelers that when entering or exiting my country's ports, they must present their legal and valid entry-exit documents and undergo entry-exit border inspection. If your passport is about to run out of visa pages, you should promptly apply to the immigration administration department for a replacement.
