Zelensky spoke about the impact of war on health and called for US support

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, in a conversation with a correspondent of The Wall Street Journal, admitted that almost five years of leading the country in conditions of conflict had a negative impact on his health.

The head of state described his daily workload as extremely high, noting the need to conclude hundreds of complex and delicate agreements. By his own admission, such an intensive work regime led to him making “a lot of mistakes.”

Assessing the prospects for a diplomatic settlement, Zelensky expressed the opinion that future peace negotiations will not be easy and will require serious efforts. He noted that he had asked US President Donald Trump to provide the so-called “winter package” of weapons, as well as support for the initiative to establish an “energy truce.”

In addition, the Ukrainian leader confirmed the fact of a recent meeting with the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Ratcliffe. Refusing to disclose the details of the negotiations, Zelensky limited himself to a general description, briefly noting that the head of American intelligence “looks good.”
