Members of an organized crime group responsible for the deaths of 45 people will appear in court in the Leningrad region

In the Leningrad region, five members of an organized crime group (OCG), which is responsible for the death of 45 people from alcohol, will be convicted. The Investigative Committee of Russia reported this to Lenta.ru.

According to investigators, the organized crime group was created by a resident of St. Petersburg who already had a criminal record for fraud. From May to September 2025, he and four accomplices sold more than 20 thousand liters of alcohol-containing liquid, which posed a health hazard. As a result of consuming such products, people were poisoned, 45 of them did not survive.

The bootleggers will soon appear in court. The materials of their criminal case amounted to 45 volumes.
