The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg placed the creators of a public page about suicide under house arrest

The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for two girls who created a public page about suicide on the VKontakte social network. This was reported by the head of the joint press service of the city courts, Daria Lebedeva, and posted a video with the defendants.

Defendants Kristina Malinovskaya and Alina Rulinskaya are charged under Article 110.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Organization of activities aimed at inducing suicide”). According to investigators, Malinovskaya created a suicide community on a social network page and recruited Rulinskaya as its leader. From January 2019 to September 2026, they maintained a public page, posting thematic materials about methods of suicide and calls for it, and adding users.

The publications contain linguistic and psychological signs of motivation to commit suicide.

Malinovskaya and Rulinskaya were detained on September 23 and charged. Rulinskaya did not admit guilt, Malinovskaya refused to speak out, but did not deny the fact of the events. They will remain under house arrest until November 22.
