Saudi Arabia expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the continuation of the officials of the Israeli occupation authorities and a group of extremist settlers in their provocative practices against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the assault on its sanctity and its religious and historical facilities, under the protection of forces affiliated with the occupation authorities, reiterating its categorical rejection of the Israeli violations of international law and the provocation it represents to the feelings of Muslims around the world.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry confirmed, in a statement, that the Israeli statements regarding the annexation of areas in southern Lebanon, and areas extending to the “yellow line” in the Gaza Strip, represent an extension of escalating and systematic Israeli attempts to infringe on the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Saudi Arabia renewed its position rejecting any measures that would undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people or change the existing legal and historical situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
On Monday, the Saudi Civil Defense announced that the danger had passed in the Jazan and Najran regions, after launching early warnings through the “National Emergency Early Warning Platform” in the two regions, to warn of danger.
The Civil Defense had announced the launch of an alert in the Jazan region, calling on residents to adhere to official instructions, and to immediately go to the nearest safe place, whether inside a building or in an interior room away from windows, and to remain there until the danger has passed.
This was preceded by the issuance of a similar warning via the national platform in the Najran region, before the Civil Defense later announced that “the danger had passed” from it, calling on residents, in the interest of their safety, to continue to follow instructions and avoid gatherings and photography altogether, and to call the number “998” in emergency situations.
The instructions accompanying the warnings included remaining calm and not leaving homes or buildings until the danger has passed, staying away from exposed places, windows and glass, and not standing on balconies or on roofs.
Civil Defense also called on those in open spaces to enter the nearest building or take shelter behind a solid curtain, and urged to avoid gathering and photographing and to stay away from dangerous sites.
If the warning message is received while driving, he recommends stopping the vehicle on the side of the road away from bridges and tall buildings, calling for calling the number “911” in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province when noticing any danger, and the number “998” in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia condemned and denounced the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in the Dera Ismail Khan area, northwestern Pakistan, causing a number of deaths and injuries.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed, in a statement, “the Kingdom’s complete rejection of all terrorist and extremist acts,” reiterating its support for Pakistan and its efforts to maintain its security and stability, and expressing its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, and to the Pakistani government and people.
On Saturday, the joint “Aman Mela” checkpoint in the Drazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province was attacked by a car loaded with explosives, in one of the latest attacks targeting security forces and government facilities in the northwest of the country.
The official Pakistani News Agency reported that the explosion targeted the checkpoint located on the Dera Ismail Khan - Quetta road, near the border between the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. According to a toll announced by the police, it resulted in the death of 12 people and the injury of 35 others, including civilians. It also caused extensive damage to the checkpoint and a nearby house.
In a development that followed the bombing, gunmen targeted an ambulance belonging to the rescue service “1122” while it was transporting injured people from the site of the attack to Deira Ismail Khan, which led to the killing of two rescue workers, according to what was reported by the official Pakistani radio.
The Federal Board of Revenue in Pakistan confirmed that the attack targeted a joint checkpoint staffed by members of the Pakistani Customs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and the Tax and Excise Department in the region, noting also that the ambulance that was transporting the injured was exposed to gunfire after the attack.
For their part, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and expressed their condolences to the families of the victims. Sharif stressed that his government is continuing its efforts to eliminate terrorism, while Zardari directed to provide the best possible medical care for the injured and strengthen operations to combat armed groups.
