The Lebanese army finds an Israeli spy device and dismantles it in the south

The Lebanese army said, on Monday, that it found and dismantled an Israeli spy device during engineering surveys in the southern regions.

An army statement said, “Within the framework of following up on engineering survey operations in the southern regions in light of the continuing Israeli attacks, a specialized military unit found an Israeli occupation spy device, equipped with a solar energy system, in Wadi Zabqin - Tyre, and worked to dismantle it.”

The Lebanese Army called on citizens to stay away from suspicious objects, not to touch them, and to report them to the nearest military center.

The Lebanese government signed the framework agreement with Israel in Washington, DC, under the auspices and mediation of the United States, in June 2026. The agreement relates to the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon with the disarmament of Hezbollah and armed groups and their handover to the army.
