China News Service, Yinchuan, September 30 (Reporter Yu Jing) On the 30th, the reporter learned from the Ningxia Helan Mountain Eastern Foot Wine Industrial Park Management Committee that the 47th World Grape and Wine Conference and OIV Member State Congress and the 6th China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo will be held concurrently in Yinchuan, Ningxia from October 12th to 16th. This is the first time that the two events are held in the same city at the same time.
The 47th World Grape and Wine Conference and OIV Member State Congress is jointly hosted by the International Grape and Wine Organization and the People's Government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with the theme of "Building a New Pattern of the Global Grape and Wine Industry". This is the first time that the OIV World Grape and Wine Conference has landed in Asia in more than 100 years since its establishment. It is also the first time that China has hosted the highest-level international academic conference in the field of grapes and wine.
The conference will include an opening ceremony, an exchange seminar on the high-quality development of grapes and wine in China, a science and technology branch, an industrial inspection, and the OIV Member State Congress and Closing Ceremony. The Science and Technology Branch has four parallel forums on grape cultivation, winemaking, economics and law, and safety and health. It collects papers from all over the world and conducts academic reports after review by Chinese and foreign experts. The meeting lasts for two and a half days.
The Sixth China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture Tourism Expo will be held at the same time. The main exhibition period is from October 12 to 14. The exhibition halls are located in Halls A to E of Yinchuan International Convention and Exhibition Center. Hall A displays world wine civilization and the development achievements of Ningxia production areas; Hall B displays about 50 international wineries from 7 countries including the United States, France, and Italy; Halls C and D display the products of more than 150 domestic wineries and the "five new" achievements of the industry; Hall E is equipped with a food market and an exhibition of characteristic customs of Ningxia's five cities.
On October 12, the two activities held a joint opening ceremony. In the afternoon of the same day, the wine market insights and results will be released, the Chinese wine brand index, the international wine producing area and product brand list, the Helan Mountain Eastern Foothills wine brand value will be released to the public, and the production area brand operation center will be awarded a license.
During the meeting, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and experts on the national grape and wine industry technology system went to the production areas to investigate and put forward industry suggestions on variety selection, planting, brewing, and digital platforms. About 600 guests will visit the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain to inspect wine grape cultivation and winery production.
Ningxia is a comprehensive experimental zone for the opening and development of the national grape and wine industry. The planting area of wine grapes in the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain exceeds 600,000 acres. One of every two bottles of domestic winery wine is produced in Ningxia, and its products are exported to more than 40 countries and regions.
The two major events, held concurrently, will build a platform for international academic exchanges and industrial trade docking, focus on displaying the development status of China's wine industry, promote external cooperation in the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain, and promote the connection between the domestic wine industry and the international market. This event lasts until October 16 and is open to wine industry practitioners and enthusiasts around the world.
