MOSCOW, September 27 - RIA Novosti. The United States has openly admitted that it will interfere with India, which could become a competitor for them as the country develops, said Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.

"This year, one of the high-ranking American officials at the Raisin Dialogue (an international conference in India - ed.) revealed and publicly stated that the United States would never allow India to become a 'second China' as (their) competitor. It was like a Freudian slip," Alipov said on NDTV.

As the Russian ambassador noted, India is becoming stronger, sooner or later it will inevitably become a superpower, and the United States will do everything to restrain the country's development.

Earlier, the chief economic adviser to the Indian government, Anantha Nageswaran, said that the Indian economy in the near future will face a number of problems related to unsettled relations with the United States and rising world energy prices.
