Cheongju City plans to complete repairs on 50 water pipe leaks by the end of the year

Cheongju City announced on the 7th that it plans to spend 90 million won to complete repair work on 50 water pipe leak points by the end of this year.

In the first half of the year, the city found 50 microscopic leaks occurring in underground water pipes through precise water leak exploration, focusing on areas with a high concentration of old pipes in the old city center and the Myeon area.

The city explained that prompt action is needed because if a leak is left unattended for a long period of time, it can lead to safety accidents such as loss of tap water, road subsidence, and weakening of the ground.

A city official said, "By detecting and repairing abnormal signs in advance before leaks grow, we expect to increase water flow rate, reduce tap water production costs, and minimize inconvenience to citizens."
