Recently, the National Day and Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival themed event, "Ode to the Prosperous Age, Welcome the National Day, Harvest Harvest Festival" hosted by the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs and the United Front Work Department of the Pulandian District Committee and hosted by Lejia Street, was successfully held. People of all ethnic groups gathered together, using ethnic unity as a bond and traditional culture as a bridge, to celebrate the harvest, talk about unity, and seek common development. Huang Zhiping, member of the Standing Committee of the Pulandian District Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, Guo Xuan, Vice Chairman of the District CPPCC, and relevant comrades from the Civil and Ethnic Affairs Bureau attended the event.
Festivals open up a “new front” for missionary work on-site
Taking advantage of the crowded scene of the Harvest Festival, Lejia Street played the propaganda video of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Promotion of Ethnic Unity and Progress" in a loop before the performance began, integrating national unity propaganda into the entire process of people visiting the exhibition, tasting food, and watching performances. More than 20 theme banners were laid out at the event site, and more than 500 brochures were distributed to the public, covering more than 1,000 people of all ethnic groups, and the concept of "everyone has the responsibility to safeguard national unity and promote national unity and progress" was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
Intangible cultural heritage empowers local planting and blends "cultural roots"
The event adheres to the in-depth integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, and sets up sections such as intangible cultural heritage display, special agricultural products exhibition and harvest-themed evening party. In the intangible cultural heritage exhibition area, more than 10 traditional handicrafts such as paper-cutting, Manchu costume making, and flower steamed bun making were on display. Representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage conducted interactive experiences on-site to ingrain the local folk culture in their hearts. The harvest results of the jurisdiction will be displayed on site, and a production and marketing docking platform will be built. Each village (community) will focus on displaying and selling special products, broadening channels for enriching people and increasing income, so that development results can benefit people of all ethnic groups.
Singing and dancing party to unite one’s heart plays “Endeavor Song”
The themed cultural evening pushed the atmosphere of the event to a climax. Singing, dancing, instrumental music, and folklore performances took turns on the stage, and local art teams, university art troupes, and cultural courtyards performed on the same stage. The program closely follows the theme of harvest joy, has a strong local flavor, and is full of sincere feelings about family and country. People of all ethnic groups sang, danced and recited their friendships. The activities promoted contacts, exchanges and integration, vividly showing a beautiful picture of "national unity and one family".
In the next step, the United Front Work Department of the Pulandian District Committee and Lejia Sub-district will focus on building a strong sense of the Chinese nation's community, implement the requirements for governing ethnic affairs in accordance with the law, enrich the grassroots propaganda carrier of ethnic unity and progress, and further build a strong synergy for joint struggle and common prosperity and development.
