Rapper Alisher Morgenstern* was fined 8.2 million rubles for evading the duties of a foreign agent

In April, a court in Moscow sentenced Morgenstern* in absentia to a fine of 7 million rubles for evading the duties of a foreign agent - he published materials without the appropriate tag. At the same time, the court retained the seizure of the defendant’s property, the value of which is equivalent to a fine. In June, the court increased the fine to 8.2 million rubles.

According to court documents, on August 20, the court issued a writ of execution because Morgenstern* did not pay the fine voluntarily. As a result, on September 1, enforcement proceedings were opened against the rapper to collect from him a “criminal fine as the main type of punishment” in the amount of more than 8.2 million rubles, it follows from the materials of the bailiffs.
