More than 64 thousand Russians have self-banned themselves from participating in gambling

Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Policy of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexander Khristoforov named the number of Russians who have established a self-ban on participation in gambling. TASS reports this.

According to him, more than 64 thousand people used the service. He emphasized that it became available only on September 1 of this year.

Earlier in Russia it was proposed to increase fines by 100 times for accepting bets from persons who have self-banned participation in gambling. If the provisions are adopted, officials may be fined from 1 million to 3 million rubles for accepting bets from such citizens, and legal entities - from 5 million to 10 million rubles.

According to the law that has come into force, you can apply to refuse to participate in gambling through the State Services portal. The application must contain a validity period of at least one year. However, it cannot be revoked earlier.
