New Taipei Metro Sanying Line Extension Bade Section Double Winning Bid, Moving towards the 2034 Completion Goal

New Taipei City promotes the "Four Rings and Eight Lines" of the MRT. Among them, the Sanying Line was opened to traffic in June this year. The mechanical, electrical and underground civil construction projects of the entire Sanying Line extension to Taoyuan Bade section were awarded today (30th). A joint bidding team composed of Italian companies Hitachi Rail Transit Signaling Systems Co., Ltd., New Asia Construction and Development Co., Ltd. and Junji Construction Co., Ltd. won the bid. Construction is expected to start at the end of this year and move towards the completion target of 2034.

Li Zheng'an, director of the New Taipei City MRT Project, said that the Executive Yuan approved the comprehensive planning report for the Bade section of the MRT Sanying Line extension in August 2025, and passed the Public Works Committee funding review on May 26 this year. In order to ensure completion in 2034 as scheduled, a precise segmented bidding strategy was adopted, which was divided into three major bids: "Full Line Mechanical and Electrical System Bid", "Underground Section Civil Engineering Bid" and "Elevated Section Detailed Design".

Among them, the "detailed design of the elevated section" has been designed on July 1 this year; the "full-line electromechanical system turnkey project" and the "underground section civil engineering turnkey project" were both awarded today, and will be signed later. Construction is expected to start by the end of the year, and we will strive to complete and open to traffic in 2034.

Li Zhengan explained that the entire Bade section of the Sanying Line extension is located in Bade District, Taoyuan City, with a total length of about 4.03 kilometers. There are two elevated stations (LB12a, LB13) and one underground station (LB14). The route extends westward from the tail track reserved at the Yingtaofu Station of the Sanying Line LB12, and the end station LB14 will connect with the Taoyuan MRT Green Line G04 Station. The entire electromechanical system turnkey project of the extension of the Sanying Line to Bade has won the bid. In the future, citizens taking the Sanying Line will be able to go directly from Tucheng, New Taipei City, to Bade, Taoyuan, achieving "one train to the end" for the entire line.

The MRT Bureau pointed out that the "Four Rings and Eight Lines" MRT network connects Keelung in the north, Taipei in the middle, and Taoyuan in the south, connecting the commuting and living circles of nearly 10 million people in the north and north of Keelung. New Taipei City and the Taoyuan Rapid Transit Engineering Bureau have established a project interface coordination platform. Eight meetings have been held to discuss project requirements, interface coordination, land acquisition and other issues for the Bade section of the Sanying Line extension, the Tucheng Shulin Line, and the Taoyuan Brown Line, effectively shortening the coordination time.
