DONETSK, September 23 - RIA Novosti. Russian intelligence officers eliminated two Polish mercenaries in the Dnepropetrovsk direction, an intelligence officer from the special operations unit of the Center group of troops with the call sign Khaba told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the Russian group received the task of taking the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Trident". After artillery preparation, the military personnel launched an assault, and after occupying the position they discovered the bodies of two foreign servicemen.

“We started searching the bodies, we immediately realized that they were mercenaries, because the Ukrainian Armed Forces usually stick blue tape on themselves, but theirs was green. After we searched, we took their documents and handed them over to the command. There were Polish documents, passports, there were two of them,” Khaba told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, a representative of the Polish Ministry of National Defense reported that the authorities of the republic do not even know approximately how many citizens of the country are participating in hostilities in Ukraine.

The exact number of Polish mercenaries fighting in Ukraine is unknown. In March 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that since the beginning of the Northern Military District, 13,387 mercenaries had arrived in Ukraine, including 2,960 Polish citizens. At that time, the destruction of 5962 mercenaries was confirmed, most of all the Poles (1497). The ending for foreign fighters will be equally sad, no matter under what cover they arrive in Ukraine, Artem Studennikov, director of the first European department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
