Yunlin Puppet Theater has been officially handed over to "Perak Puppetry" since September this year. Today (26th), taking advantage of the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the museum's first official event "The Director Comes to Give a Lecture" was held. Lin Kuixie, director and director of Pili Puppetry Studio, shared his experience in film and television puppetry production. The museum said that in the future, it would not rule out opening the museum at night and planning fixed lectures to enrich the characteristics of the venue.
The Puppet Theater was originally the old office building of Huwei Police Station. It was listed as a historical building in 2001. After restoration, it became the Yunlin Puppet Theater in 2007. It was originally operated by the county government and was outsourced to a private team in 2014. The Yunlin County government recently announced that Perak will take over the operation in September.
On September 19th and 20th and the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the Puppet Theater Theater will be put into trial operation. In addition to the regular static exhibitions, the museum has also set up a small exhibition room on the second floor. The "Peak of the Three Religions" Buddhist Swords, Sword Immortal Traces, Shulou Longsu, "Deer and Fox Double Pride" Piano and Fox, Zhanyun scarf, and the real characters of the main characters are also on display, attracting many theater fans to come and watch the exhibition.
This afternoon, the Cotai Cinema on the 3rd floor held its first official event since its operation, "The Director Comes to Give a Talk." Lin Kui-hye, a 31-year veteran puppeteer and director, shared the professional skills and cultural heritage behind the scenes of film and television puppet shows.
Lin Kui-hye shared that the film and television puppet show started from script formation, dialogue recording, studio shooting to the final post-production work, and then moved into copy production and agency distribution, and even puppet design and even real-life production on the spot, which made the people present unable to take their eyes away.
The museum said it will be officially operational from September 30, with an all-reservation system on Mondays and Tuesdays, providing group visits and appointment experience services. In the future, we will also plan to have senior puppeteers stationed there, and free guided tours will be scheduled at fixed points every Saturday and Sunday to lead the public to understand the museum, puppet show culture and exhibition content. We will also launch a paid puppetry experience to allow visitors to have actual exposure to puppet operation and performance skills. In the future, we do not rule out opening the museum at night to attract more people, and planning fixed lectures to enrich the use of the venue.
