A 55-year-old woman in Taichung crashed her bicycle into a street light and a car after drinking. Her alcohol level was 0.23 milligrams and she was sent to court.

"I didn't drink much, and I was very careful all the way!" A 55-year-old woman surnamed Chen from Taichung City was riding her bike home after drinking. On the way, she was suspected of being too close to the roadside and hit a street light. Then she crashed into an arcade, damaging the parked Lexus and flowerpots. A breathalyzer test revealed that her alcohol content was 0.23 milligrams, significantly exceeding the legal limit. After police inquiries, she was still transferred to the court for public danger.

The accident occurred at about 9:55 pm on the 4th. A loud crash was heard suddenly on Huaxing Street, North District, Taichung City. People nearby were shocked to see a woman hit herself on a bicycle and rushed to report the incident. After receiving the report, the Second Branch immediately sent personnel to the scene to deal with the incident. Investigation revealed that Ms. Chen was riding a motorcycle from Mei Ting Street along Huaxing Street to Zhongming Road. When passing through the accident section, the motorcycle lost control first and hit a street light, and then hit a Lexus car parked in the arcade. Finally, a flowerpot nearby was also affected.

Ms. Chen suffered abrasions and contusions on her limbs in the accident. She was not seriously injured after being sent to the hospital for treatment. When faced with the alcohol test, she said that she had gone to a friend's house to drink and chat earlier. She thought she "didn't drink a lot" and decided to ride home. She also said that she was actually very careful while riding, but she did not expect that she would cause a self-collision accident because she rode the motorcycle too close to the roadside.
