A fire alarm was reported in a five-story apartment in Lane 58, Bade Street, Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, at 6:41 a.m. today (25th). The breakfast shop and gold paper shop on the first floor erupted from the breakfast shop and gold paper shop for unknown reasons and violent smoke spread rapidly. Upon receiving the report, the New Taipei City Fire Department dispatched 127 disaster relief personnel and 51 vehicles to the scene for rescue. The fire was controlled at 7:40 and extinguished at 7:48. During the rescue process, a total of 57 residents were evacuated, and 14 of them were sent to the hospital for precautionary observation. Fortunately, no one was inside the two stores at the time of the incident, and none of those sent to the hospital were in life-threatening danger. The detailed cause of the fire is still pending further evidence collection and clarification by the Fire Investigation Department.

It is understood that the crime occurred in a five-story rooftop apartment. At 6:41 this morning, thick smoke and flames suddenly burst out from the first floor. Neighbors nearby were alarmed and quickly called to report the incident. After receiving the notification, the New Taipei City Fire Department did not dare to be careless and immediately dispatched 51 disaster relief vehicles (including 10 ambulances) and 127 firefighters to the scene to deploy water lines for rescue operations. After the disaster relief personnel arrived, they immediately pulled up water lines to put out the fire. The fire was successfully controlled at 7:04 and completely extinguished at 7:48. The burning area was initially estimated to be about 110 square meters. After inspection by fire fighters, no one was present at the breakfast shop and gold paper shop where the fire broke out on the first floor at the time of the incident.

Firefighters conducted search and rescue and evacuation guidance layer by layer, and a total of 57 residents in the building were safely evacuated. For the sake of safety, after on-site assessment by ambulance personnel, 14 residents (7 men and 7 women) who suffered from slight smoke inhalation or physical discomfort were sent to the hospital for preventive treatment. The list of patients sent to hospital includes: a 26-year-old man and a woman in her 20s on the 2nd floor of No. 10 were sent to Xintai Hospital for observation; a man in his 50s on the 2nd floor, and a 30-year-old man and a woman in their 60s on the 3rd floor were sent to Fuzhou University Hospital; 2 men and 3 women (more than 40 years old) including a 4-year-old girl on the 4th floor A 32-year-old man, a 50-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and a 4-year-old girl) were sent to Banqiao Yadong Hospital; a 32-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman on the 4th floor, and a 30-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on the 6th floor were sent to Taipei Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare; fortunately, everyone was okay.

The New Taipei City Fire Department stated that the detailed origin of the fire and the exact cause of the fire have been further clarified by personnel from the Fire Investigation Division of the Fire Department.
