Hyundai Motor Company launches global integrated safety council... First conference held

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Ha-na = Hyundai Motor Company's safety managers from each region, both domestically and internationally, gathered together for the first time to discuss standardization of safety management levels.

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 16th that it has launched the 'Global Integrated Safety Council' (GOSC) and will hold its first GOSC conference at domestic business sites, including its Yangjae headquarters and Ulsan plant, for three days until the 18th.

GOSC is a global consultative body established to communicate between those responsible for safety at Hyundai Motor Company's plants around the world.

This conference will be attended by over 40 safety leaders from 12 countries, including Korea, the Americas, Europe, India, Asia-Pacific, and China, including Choi Young-il, Chief Safety and Health Officer (Vice President) of Hyundai Motor Company.

They share excellent safety practices in each region, seek ways to horizontally expand them to all workplaces, and discuss strategies for standardizing the safety management level of workplaces around the world.

Vice President Choi Young-il said, “This conference is an opportunity to share our headquarters’ safety philosophy and safety strategy with global safety leaders,” and added, “I hope it will be an opportunity to reflect on the fact that the safety of executives and employees is the top priority for Hyundai Motors to maintain its competitiveness as a global top-tier brand.”
