Ed Sheeran left without opening act after Macklemore kicked out of tour due to support for Palestine

Rapper Macklemore has been kicked out of Ed Sheeran's US tour after speaking out in support of Palestine.

The American venues where Sheeran's concerts were to be held stipulated that the performances be held without Macklemore.

Four acts who were scheduled to open for Ed Sheeran's concerts have pulled out of the tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

British singer Ed Sheeran was left without the artists whose performances were scheduled to “warm up” before his concerts on the Loop tour, all of them refused to take the stage after the exclusion of rap artist Macklemore from the tour, the British newspaper Guardian reports.

Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran's US tour after speaking out in support of Palestine in early September, the outlet reported. According to the newspaper, the American venues where Sheeran's concerts were to take place stipulated that the performances would take place only if Macklemore was removed from the "opening act" on the tour. Sheeran tried to mediate the conflict, but failed to resolve it.

"All four openers scheduled to perform on Ed Sheeran's Loop tour on upcoming dates refused to take the stage in a show of solidarity with their bandmate Macklemore," writes the Guardian.

According to the newspaper, Danish pop group Lukas Graham, Irish Beoga, Irish singer Aaron Rowe and American musician Finneas refused to participate in the tour.
