The Eastern Interregional Transport Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a criminal case regarding a fire on a fishing vessel off the eastern coast of Kamchatka.

Three main versions of the fire are considered: a malfunction of the ship's electrical equipment, violation of fire safety rules by the crew and violation of the rules of technical operation of the vessel.

During the rescue operation, 25 people were evacuated, four of them were hospitalized in serious condition, and another four sailors were missing.

Investigators from the Eastern Interregional Transport Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia are investigating a criminal case regarding a fire on a fishing boat off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, where four sailors disappeared, the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported.

According to the department, investigators and criminologists have already interrogated crew members, seized ship documentation, and requested information about the classification and technical examination of the vessel, including fire extinguishing equipment. Navigation and fire-technical examinations have been appointed. Three main versions are being considered: a malfunction of the ship's electrical equipment, violation of fire safety rules by the crew and violation of the technical operation rules of the vessel.
