The person in charge of the relevant department said that the city has made arrangements around key tasks such as improving the service guarantee system, doing a solid job in resettlement, coordinating the supply of factors and supporting services, and creating a good construction environment, and fully escorting the construction of the Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel Project.

The Three Gorges New Water Transport Channel Project is the largest comprehensive project on the Yangtze River trunk line after the Three Gorges Project that integrates water conservancy, shipping, ecological and other functions. It is the first major national landmark project to be constructed during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. As the project location, Yichang is responsible for tasks such as expropriation and relocation, infrastructure restoration, approval of essential components, power relocation, and logistics support.
Hu Zhaohui, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Three Gorges Working Committee, said that Yichang strives to ensure people's livelihood throughout the entire process of relocation, puts policy propaganda and government services at the front line, implements a grid member continuity service mechanism, and protects the legitimate rights and interests of the people. The resettlement areas are equipped with facilities such as education, medical care, elderly care, culture and sports to help people find jobs nearby and improve their quality of residence.
Due to project construction needs, Yichang needs to demolish Sanjiang Bridge, Yangtze River Bridge, Yanjiang Avenue, Binjiang Park Gezhouba Section and other facilities. The construction plan also coordinates project construction needs with the long-term development of the city, widens roads, renovates bridges, and optimizes the regional road network structure. The Three Gorges Dam area plans to build four new cross-channel bridges and add bridge landscapes to build momentum for the construction of the Three Gorges International Tourism Island.
In terms of government services, Yichang implements the "one-window acceptance, parallel promotion, and gap-tolerant approval" model for project approval. The construction site coordinates to "handle urgent matters as soon as possible, dynamically clear them, and do not disturb anything" to effectively ensure the efficient progress of construction. The blasting and excavation work in the advance excavation area of the new channel of the Three Gorges Project has been completed ahead of schedule.
Cross-channel power relocation is related to the safety of electricity consumption in East and South China. Yichang, together with the State Grid and various participating units, coordinated the mobilization of advanced equipment and high-quality resources across the country to carry out the task, and completed the power supply and line replacement of the first batch of lines on schedule. The local government also coordinates building materials, labor and other resources to create a "15-minute builder service circle" to fully guarantee project construction.
