[Reporter Fu Mingyu/Reporting from Taipei] The shortlist of the 61st Golden Bell Awards for Broadcasting was announced today (9th). Born Tsang served as the award revealer. Unexpectedly, the podcast program "Boyin" hosted by him also entered the Life Style Program Award, creating an interesting situation where "the revealer is also a finalist". This year, a total of 280 businesses and 1,096 works competed for 29 awards; as for the much-anticipated special award, there was no shortage.

In response to the lack of special awards this year, Lin Maoxian, chairman of the Broadcasting Golden Bell Awards Special Awards Committee and associate professor at National Taichung University of Education, said that the special awards are not based on the performance of a single program, but comprehensively consider whether the candidate has made special or outstanding contributions to the broadcasting industry in terms of technology, guidance, and innovation. Due to the strict selection criteria, candidates must obtain the approval of more than two-thirds of the judges in order to win the award. This year, the recommendation situation was less enthusiastic. After careful and comprehensive discussions, the judges finally decided not to accept the award.

The judges also emphasized that being absent does not mean that the recommended person is not outstanding enough, but is a decision made after considering various conditions. They hope that next year all walks of life will actively recommend outstanding broadcasting talents and encourage more people who have made outstanding contributions to the broadcasting industry to participate in the special award selection.
