《行者》系列自首部作品《無色》起,持續受到全球影展、美術館及製作單位邀請,其中《行者》曾入選坎城影展影評人週,《西遊》、《無所住》分別入選柏林影展,《金剛經》則曾擔任威尼斯影展地平線單元閉幕片。如今《微塵》再度叩關威尼斯,展現蔡明亮與李康生以獨特創作語言走遍國際影壇的成果。

蔡明亮曾表示,希望透過作品刺激電影產業改變,讓戲院擁有更廣大且多元的內容,也藉此拓展觀眾的視野。《行者》系列完成10部之際,他更推出「行者十步」電影馬拉松,在台灣舉辦10場、每場長達10小時的放映,與近千名觀眾共同完成100小時觀影創舉,之後更獲羅馬、洛杉磯響應。

此次威尼斯行程除了《微塵》世界首映,威尼斯雙年展主展覽「In Minor Keys」也同步展出《行者》系列長片《沙》的影像,讓這項持續14年的創作計畫在影展與當代藝術場域同時登場。
《微塵》由台灣、西班牙合製,2025年於西班牙聖賽巴斯提安拍攝,走訪當地著名景點,包括「風之梳」雕塑、舊城區與貝殼海灘等,透過李康生穿梭人群、巷弄、海潮與山林,捕捉城市與自然環境的真實脈動。
該片同時入選聖賽巴斯提安影展Zabaltegi-Tabakalera競賽單元,這項競賽以形式自由、類型不限及具前瞻性的作品為特色,電影結束威尼斯行程後,也將回到拍攝地,與當地觀眾見面。
