A fire suddenly broke out in a two-story house on Gengsheng Road in Taitung City at about 3 o'clock this morning. Thick smoke continued to billow from the scene. Since the fire started in the motorcycle shop on the first floor, firefighters arrived and immediately used cutters to cut open the iron door and entered the house to rescue. Three people were trapped inside. Fortunately, they were successfully rescued.

Firefighters entered the house and helped the two trapped elderly people out. The family members who had been waiting anxiously outside were moved to tears on the spot when they saw that the elderly people were rescued safely, and even cried bitterly.

Not only were people trapped, but firefighters also rescued a poodle kept at home. However, the dog's hair was suspected to have been affected by the fire, and part of it was burnt. After being rescued, it was obviously blackened and looked sad.

Since the site was a multi-family building, in order to prevent the fire from spreading to both sides, firefighters also assisted the residents next door to evacuate. Fortunately, the fire was under control at around 4 o'clock in the morning. The two elderly people were frightened and were subsequently sent to the hospital for further examination.

The detailed cause of the fire remains to be clarified by further investigation by the firefighting unit.
