A third worker died in a fire in an Omsk high-rise building under construction.

Two victims were transferred for treatment to the Burn Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; the preliminary cause of the fire is the ignition of insulation during welding work.

OMSK, August 21 - RIA Novosti. The third worker injured in a fire in an Omsk high-rise building under construction has died, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health told RIA Novosti.

A construction site in the Omsk microdistrict of Dravert Quarters caught fire on August 15 at about 10.30 (7.30 Moscow time). Strong thick black smoke appeared over the left bank of Omsk. 30 rescuers and six pieces of equipment went to the scene. Eleven people were hospitalized from the scene, three of whom were later released home. Two of the hospitalized men died. All of them are construction contractors.

“Despite all the medical care provided, another man injured in the fire died. He had 80% burns to his body. Three patients remain in the general ward in the Omsk Emergency Hospital No. 1. One is still in intensive care,” the press service reported.

On August 18, following consultations, doctors decided to transfer two victims for treatment to the Burn Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics. The patients were transported to the site by airflight organized by the developer company.
