Tropical depression in the South China Sea lands in Vietnam, and heavy rain and geological disaster warnings are maintained in many places in Hainan

The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau continued to issue a level 4 typhoon warning (at sea) at 18:00 on the 13th. It is expected that after the tropical depression in the South China Sea makes landfall, it will continue to move westward at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour, and its intensity will gradually weaken. Affected by the tropical low pressure and cold air in the South China Sea, from the evening of September 13th to 14th, there were heavy to heavy rains and local heavy rains in the central, eastern and southern areas of Hainan Island, and heavy to heavy rains in other areas.

Monitoring shows that from 08:00 on September 11 to 16:00 on September 13, a total of 24 towns and villages in 6 cities and counties in Wanning, Lingshui, and Qiongzhong in Hainan received more than 300 millimeters of rainfall, with the maximum rainfall of 452.1 millimeters in Changfeng Town, Wanning.

The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau continued to issue a second-level heavy rain warning at 17:00 on the 13th: It is expected that from the evening of the 13th to the 14th, there will still be 200-300 mm of local rainfall in the southeastern half of Hainan Island and 450 mm of local rainfall.

The Hainan Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Planning and the Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a geological disaster meteorological risk warning at 17:00 on the same day: It is expected that from 20:00 on the 13th to 20:00 on the 14th, some towns and villages in five cities and counties, including Wuzhishan and Wanning, have a high risk of rainfall-induced geological disasters, which is a Level II risk warning (orange warning). Persons at high-risk hidden danger points and threatened areas in the orange warning area should evacuate immediately to nearby refuge settlements according to the instructions of the local disaster prevention department. People facing slopes, cliffs, ditches and water should evacuate to nearby refuge settlements in time according to evacuation signals.

In addition, the Hainan Provincial Department of Water Affairs and the Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a yellow flash flood meteorological risk warning at 18:00 on the 13th: It is expected that from 20:00 on the 13th to 20:00 on the 14th, the possibility of flash flood disaster meteorological risks in some areas of Wanning City and other cities and counties will reach the blue warning level, and the possibility of flash flood disasters in some areas of six cities and counties, including Sanya City and Wuzhishan City, will reach the yellow warning level. Flash floods may also occur in other areas due to local short-duration heavy rainfall. Relevant departments are requested to pay attention to preventive measures such as monitoring, early warning, and relocation.
