The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the verdict against Andrei Evseev in the case of preparing a terrorist attack

MOSCOW, September 27 - RIA Novosti. The Supreme Court of Russia upheld the sentence of pensioner Andrei Evseev, who was sentenced by a military court to 12 years in prison for attempting to carry out a terrorist attack using drones, possession of weapons and explosives, according to court data available to RIA Novosti.

Last fall, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Evseev to 12 years in prison. According to the verdict, he will spend the first three years in prison, the rest in a maximum security colony. Additionally, the court fined him 250 thousand rubles. He appealed the verdict, the appeal confirmed it, then the convict appealed to the Supreme Court of Russia.

“The Collegium for Military Affairs of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation determined: the verdict of the Second Western District Military Court dated September 3, 2025 and the appeal ruling of the Military Court of Appeal dated February 25, 2026 in relation to Andrey Ivanovich Evseev remain unchanged,” the court’s decision says.

According to the case file, in June 2024, Evseev was detained for wearing a T-shirt with the symbols of the Ukrainian nationalist organization "Trident" * named after Stepan Bandera and was arrested for 10 days for demonstrating Nazi symbols.

After that, the police searched his home and found three pistols converted to fire live ammunition. He remade them from a decommissioned Makarov pistol, a Nagan revolver of the 1895 model, and a Smersh signal revolver. In addition to weapons, many technical equipment, quadcopters, and flags of other states were confiscated from him. They also found on him “electronic media containing communications with representatives of extremist organizations.”

As a result, a criminal case was opened against the man.

After his arrest, he fully admitted his guilt, stated that he repented, was cooperating with the investigation, “he had no malicious intent to commit crimes, he simply kept everything at home and did not show it to anyone.” However, he was arrested and subsequently convicted.
