The Russian Ambassador to Canada said Canadians are tired of Ukraine’s requests for help

Russian Ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov said Canadians are tired of requests for help from Ukrainian authorities.

Canada has provided approximately $18.4 billion in aid to Kyiv since 2022.

According to Stepanov, the mood in Canadian society on the issue of supporting Kyiv is heterogeneous, and the further away from the federal center, the more favorable the attitude towards Russia.

Canadians are tired of the begging of the Kyiv authorities, since for most residents of the country their own economic problems are much more important than the Ukrainian agenda, Russian Ambassador to Ottawa Oleg Stepanov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Canada has provided approximately $18.4 billion in aid to Kyiv since 2022, but Ukrainian authorities continue to turn to Ottawa for additional military and financial support. At the last meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced, in particular, the allocation of funds for the supply of interceptors for Ukrainian air defense.

“One feels a certain fatigue from the begging of the Zelensky regime,” Stepanov said.

At the same time, the ambassador noted, despite the prevailing policy in Canada’s official information field to support Kyiv, the mood in Canadian society is far from uniform.
