MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. The Wall Street Journal, citing Egyptian officials, claims that Egypt warned the Israeli authorities three times about the impending attack by the Palestinian Hamas movement, which occurred on October 7, 2023.

"It was early October 2023, and two warnings from Egypt about signs of an impending attack from Gaza were ignored by Israel. Kamel (Abbas Kamel, then head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service - ed.) called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deliver a third warning," the publication said, citing Egyptian government officials.

As the newspaper notes, Kamel's call was just one of many warnings about the attack that Netanyahu and other Israeli officials received before it occurred. According to the publication’s interlocutors, including officials, the Israeli Prime Minister also received such information from the UAE, but he was not convinced.

In early September, the Israeli publication Haaretz published an investigative article alleging that the UAE President warned the Israeli Prime Minister about the hostile plans of the Palestinian Hamas movement a week and a half before the attack on October 7, 2023.

After the conversation, Netanyahu, as stated in the investigation, did not inform either the then Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army Herzi Halevi or the heads of the intelligence services about the warning. Netanyahu later instructed his lawyers to file a libel suit against the publication over the publication.
